Search for barista help in Cincinnati and you mostly find two unhelpful things: equipment rental companies that drop off a machine and leave, and staffing agencies that will send a warm body with a résumé line that says "coffee experience." Neither is what a planner actually wants. What you want is somebody who has worked a 250-person reception before, knows what to do when the line suddenly triples during a speech break, and does not need to be managed.

That is the whole idea behind our mobile barista service. Ryan Hill started Solo Coffee Cart in Cincinnati in 2023, and across 540-plus events since, the pattern has held: the equipment is table stakes, and the person behind it is what people remember. Our baristas are hired for hospitality first — the ability to hold a friendly two-sentence conversation while making a drink correctly — and trained on espresso from there. It is a much easier order of operations than the reverse.

Practically, hiring a barista from us also removes a category of risk from your run-of-show. You are not the one sourcing milk, discovering the outlet is on the same circuit as the DJ, or figuring out who is going to wipe down the bar at 11pm. We show up an hour early, build the bar, run it, tear it down, and take the trash with us. Your only job on the day is to point at a wall.

And when your venue asks for paperwork — as Cincinnati venues almost always do — it already exists. General liability coverage, a certificate of insurance naming the venue as additional insured, food handler certification, and a W-9 all go out the same day you request them.

Offices, on a schedule. The most common repeat booking we get is a recurring in-office pop-up: two or three hours, once a month, set up on the floor rather than in a far-off break room. It reliably pulls people out of their chairs and into the same room, which is why it keeps getting renewed as a hybrid-era attendance nudge. Companies from Blue Ash to downtown book it as a standing line item.

Weddings, at both ends of the day. Couples hire baristas for the getting-ready suite in the morning and again for the reception at night. The morning shift is small and calm; the evening shift is a rush. Same team, two very different jobs, one booking.

Conferences and trade shows. Multi-day coverage with daily load-in, staffed to the schedule rather than to a flat headcount, so the bar is heavier during registration and breaks and quieter during sessions.

Open houses, showrooms, and launches. A barista at the door gives visitors a reason to stop, and a reason to linger long enough for your team to talk to them. Realtors and retail clients book us specifically for dwell time.

Private homes. Graduation parties, showers, holiday gatherings, and milestone birthdays across Hyde Park, Mariemont, Anderson Township, and over the river in Covington, Newport, and Fort Thomas. Private bookings start around $600 and need nothing more than a household outlet.
